This is a visual story of how life and beauty have emerged beneath the steel and concrete spans of a recently built road overpass in Adelaide, South Australia.
This place has a name: Karrarendi Yerta, which is Kaurna language for "travel overland".
Beneath the overpass is Karrarendi Yerta Kadla, a vibrant, Indigenous-embedded community plaza and space adjacent to the Ovingham Railway Station.

Torrens Road, is a major road connecting Adelaide with the Western Suburbs. Intersecting this road is the suburban rail lines to Gawler (Broad Gauge) and the freight lines to Darwin, Sydney and Perth (Standard Gauge).
Before the construction of the overpass, the level crossing at Ovingham resulted in Torrens Road being blocked for fifteen minutes every hour, causing significant traffic congestion.

On the twenty-first of March 2018, the Kaurna (pron. "Garna") the Federal Court of Australia recognised the Kaurna People (pron. "Garna") as the Native Title Holders of the Adelaide Plains. It was the first time that native title was set on land of an Australian capital city.
